George Clinton - Computer Games

Today we return to the past, specifically to the year 1982. As a boy born in 1986, I grew up listening to electronic music of the 90s and the turn of the millennium. The older I get, the more as a listener I am drawn back to the past. I practically don't listen to current and modern electronic albums anymore.

While reading a book about the history of black music (Karel Veselý - Music of Fire), I discovered many new names and bands. One of the most significant is definitely 'the father of world funk' George Clinton, the founder of the bands Parliament and Funkadelic. After these groups disbanded, George decided to create a solo album called 'Computer Games'. It's a fantastic 40 minutes of music that can brighten any day.

The song 'Atomic Dog' inspired Snoop Dogg, who offers a loose continuation of the track with a song titled 'Who Am I (What's My Name?)' on his first album Doggystyle. In conclusion, it's worth mentioning an interesting fact. George Clinton is one of the most sampled artists of all time and was one of the few authors who had an understanding of hip-hop producers. Unlike others, he did not demand payment for copyright or threaten with lawsuits and possible withdrawal of songs from the market in cases where authors did not give their consent.
