Outsiders: That's A Steal! w/ Sergej Krstić @ Kiosk Radio

Feb 9, 2024

My latest discovery is Sergej Krstić. I came across him through the Outsiders show on Kiosk radio, which I occasionally listen to. His name sounded familiar to me, and upon discovering that he hails from Belgrade, he instantly garnered my primary interest. And after an hour-long listen to his set, he definitely had an even bigger one.

To be clear, I have a very close and explicitly personal relationship with Serbia, and especially with Belgrade, as part of my family comes from there. The local music scene has always seemed to me to be at a very high level in the context of the phase the whole country and city are currently going through. From my perspective, it is much further ahead than, for example, Prague.

But back to the point. Sergej mixed a very pleasant and explicitly danceable set with a positive atmosphere. Nowadays, the overall trend is rather the opposite, and I come across a lot of dark, fast, depressive music. That's why his set amused me greatly, and I'm currently listening it quite a lot. Especially in the current winter period, it can brighten my day and lift my spirit.
