Years ago I read an article about a musical artist from the turn of the 19th century who, when asked: "how do you imagine the music of the future", he replied "like a violin and a typewriter meeting on a nature walk". Listening to contemporary electronic music, I've had to acknowledge countless times how timeless this foreshadowing was.
Wladimir M, a Dutch legend who has been on the scene for nearly 32 years and co-creator of the first techno label Eevo Lute Muzique from the same country, relies on this recipe quite clearly on his new album, simply titled 2023.
In the chosen track, a delicate piano melody meets a rolling, strictly machine-like rhythmic base. All of this is complemented by simple vocals making for a great whole.
However, the whole album is definitely worth mentioning, released on Delsin Records, where you can find both tracks that are downright danceable and listenable.
Future of 2023.
