I'm a nostalgic person. I like memories of my childhood. The fashion, design and atmosphere of that time has a certain naivety to it.

The compilation, released on the Crammed Electronic Archives label, is an offshoot of the Belgian label Crammed Discs, where the musical retrospective of those ages occurs.

Hidden under the YBU project is Nordic producer Hans Olav Grøttheim, who has been active since the early days of the dance scene. And it shows in his work.

I love this slightly fractured sound, with a whiff of the lightness and playfulness of earlier times seeping in. Nowadays it often relies on aggressiveness, but here it's softness and ease that dominates. It's a great example of a track that can be listened to on a summer afternoon with friends, or in the early hours at the club when there's nothing left to prove.
